Soothing Sounds Collection is an analog horror motion project that turns a seemingly harmless VHS tape into an eerie experience. By distorting calming visuals and audio with glitches and cryptic imagery, it taps into fears of surveillance and subliminal messaging. Inspired by early web series like Local 58 and Marble Hornets, the project uses nostalgic VHS aesthetics to create a false sense of security before subtly introducing fear. It highlights how design choices shape horror, proving that even simple elements can drastically shift a story’s emotional impact.
